The community relations guy who used to help run things here at the temple for years was African American.  We have a few in our meditation group, but we are also in a predominantly African American neighborhood, so that makes it easier for them to attend.  I read an interesting survey of the percentage of Buddhists in America, about 4% were African American.  For whatever reason, it seems to attract affluent middle class white folks.
